Is your Site a Sales Website ?

Most Websites are attempting to sell goods or services by attracting new visitors to their site.Other sites are just information sites where,perhaps,sales are just a by product.

If your site is the former and most are,have you looked at your site,did you design your site and write the content of your website with sales in mind.Besides the design of the site,the text and navigation on the site should be aimed at maximising sales.This means that each site should flow seamelessly to the order page,people should not have to jump backwards and forwards through your site,your text should be written with sales and optimisation in mind.

You should explain your product or service,how it will benefit them,your unique selling proposition and a call for them to purchase your product or service.You should also have an "About US" page,to allay any fears or apprehensions and enhance your credibility.All your other pages must be be written with sales in mind,do not get side tracked on petty or technical issues,the idea is for your website to make sales for you,bear this in mind at all times.Dont forget to ask them to buy and put lots of links to your order page.

If your business relies on sales and visitors to your website,it is a good idea to make your website eyecatching and asthetically pleasing,it makes for a better experience for your visitors.However do not make your site too gaudy or use too much flash on it,you do not want to overwhelm your visitors with multiple,bright colours and movement all over the page,it will take there concentration away from the message you are trying to get over.

We believe that a colourful site will attract visitors to remain on your site and to revisit in the future,some may not agree with this and some businesses are not suitable to a coloured site but we believe that the majority of sales sites can benefit from adding colour to their site.We try and incoporate at least three colours in the sites that we build,in our opinion it makes your site more memorable and helps contribute to a more positive and fullfilling experience for your visitors.Colour,used correctly is of great benefit to most sales websites.

Your website is you,your company,your business in the eyes of the world,it is very important that you make the right impression with your visitors,one glance could decide your visitors opinion of your business.It is true that the first impression your visitor gets will decide if they will stay,look around or leave immediately.How is it possible for the average business and web site to attract the visitor to stay and look around your site? The most obvious answer is that,you must employ something eye catching on your first (index) page,whether this is the site colour scheme,layout or graphics,you can decide.

Do not display more than a tiny flash movie on first page,most people will not sit around waiting for fancy graphics,as long as War and Peace,to load on your site,it might look OK when finally downloaded but it is annoying to the huge majority of internet users,they will not wait and will look for a competitor who gives them what they want:a fast loading,eye catching site.

When designing your site,it is important to keep in mind the visitors experience when they are on your site,think back to your own experiences on the internet,what you like and dislike in web sites and incorporate these features accordingly.Your web site to reflect you,your business and your company in the eyes of the world should be three things

1.Fast loading

2.Eye catching colour scheme

3.Simple and easy to navigate

To people who look at your website,the image projected there is the image people will carry in their mind,it is therefore important that thought be given to layout and colour scheme.You must decide if you want to project a conservative image or a brighter more eye catching image,it is the writers opinion,that for most businesses,a brighter more eye catching site is more effective.Off course if you are an undertaker it would not be appropriate but most businesses can benefit from a more eye catching site.

It makes the site a better experience for visitors,it stays in their memory longer and they are more likely to visit you again.A dull,boring site is not impressive,it is easily forgotten and will not inspire visitors to return,so consider making your site brighter,more eye catching and more colourful.
